Such a simple word, but if you truly embrace it to its core, it is extremely liberating!
In this day and age it’s easy to get caught up in the negative. If you look at a lot of media sources there is some positivity, but a lot of scaremongering; hate, fear, rejection, division, ‘them’ and ‘us’, crime, debt, and worry.
With this, it is easy to forget the good things of life. We all have ‘stuff’ going on that perhaps may not be going quite as right as it should or could improve, but there is ALWAYS stuff to be grateful for.
Life can certainly be testing at times but I am learning quick that whilst it tests your resolve and challenges your inner strengths, at the same time it’s making you into a better person.
I am grateful for having a beautiful wife and family. I’m grateful for having a job I absolutely love, and being able to use my skills and learning to help my clients. I’m grateful for being alive and being given the chance to experience life. I’m grateful for having a life that allows good food on the table, shelter, health and movement, and time away.
That focus on what I do have already and appreciate, is a total antithesis to the; I need, I should have, I want, I haven’t got.
Simple concept. Profound effect.
