I love it when a client tells me of improvements they have made, be they small or large, significant changes or apparently small enhancements in their daily activities of living that are very significant to them. It’s what motivates me to keep working harder and better.
This week one client had a diabetes review with his doctor and reported back decreases in blood pressure, cholesterol levels and the diabetes marker of HbA1C, which will undoubtedly have a lot to do with his recent weight loss of 10lbs. He has done this with the help of a professional nutritionist and by exercising moderately to intensely on three days of the week. He would be the first to say that it’s not been a walk in the park, but he has stuck with some personalised targets in his diet and put a lot of effort into every exercise session and enjoyed the rewards. What can we expect after the next few weeks of a ‘dry’ January? Even more benefits for sure.
My other favourite this week is a lady whose most recent achievement is a fat loss of 20lbs in 3 months. She says “admittedly I had a difficult chocolate reveal and handover session, which was not easy, but my objectives have been achieved and I am now in good shape and looking forward to my stamina goals for 2015”.
Whatever changes for the good you are prepared to make I think it is vital to have the support of at least one person, so you are accountable, and to only commit to one or two adjustments at one time, waiting until that behaviour is sustainable before embarking on further change.
Good luck with your health commitments this month. Why not let us know of any targets you have managed to reach – small or large.
