If you are struggling for motivation to get out running now that colder weather is upon us, why not enter yourself into a 5k or 10k event. If you are a seasoned runner then 10k or half marathon is a sensible aim, whereas newer pavement pounders would find a 5k run plenty to enjoy. If you fancy running dressed as Santa try the Cattle Country 5k/10k Santa Dash on Sunday 8th December at Berkeley.
Sunday 12th Jan is the date for an interesting event called the Bath Skyline Day race, commencing at the University of Bath. You can run either 5k or 10k along a route managed by the National Trust taking in breath-taking views of the city of Bath, Solsbury Hill and Sham Castle. It’s an off-road run.
Feb 1st sees the Bristol 5k and 10k Winter Warmer runs in Ashton Court. Optional fundraising for Shelter charity.
A new event is the Simply Health Great Bristol 10k on Sunday 3rd May, the route of which takes you under Clifton Suspension Bridge and back to the harbour-side.
