Nick Dobson – Sports Massage Therapist
A very big welcome to our latest member of staff Nick. He will be starting massage in the new year and will welcome talking through any issues you may have.
Nick is a Level 3 (VTCT) Sports Massage Therapist who has worked within the health and fitness industry for the last few years using the skills, knowledge and qualifications he has gained to help the clients he works with to get the most out of their training and recovery.
Nick graduated with a BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Performance degree, through Writtle University College in Essex back in 2017 as well as a Level 3 Personal Training qualification and Taping for Sport.
Nick developed a keen interest in sport from a young age. participating in a variety of sports including running, triathlon, football, golf, tennis, sailing, climbing and skiing. Additionally, Nick has gained at least 8 years of sports coaching within football and triathlon. While participating in sports and coaching,
Nick has experienced a variety of injuries sustaining a variety of injuries that have required treatment with physiotherapists, chiropractors and massage therapists.
Nick currently works with a local rugby club based in the Tribute Western Counties North RFU league, a variety of sportspersons and at various charitable sporting events offering sports massage, personal training, taping and advice.
Through these experiences, he has developed an understanding of the needs, demands and importance that training, recovery, rehabilitation and nutrition can have on sports performance as well as daily activities and quality of life.
These experiences have led Nick to follow a career in the health and fitness industry as a Sports Massage Therapist and Fitness Instructor with a keen interest in injury prevention, rehabilitation and conditioning that focuses on improving sports performance while reducing the risk of injuries.
Nick has a keen focus on: Taping for Sport and Kinesiology Taping, Deep Tissue Massage, Soft Tissue Release, Neuromuscular Techniques (NMT), and Muscular Energy Techniques. Other interests and key skills include: Nutrition, Physiology and Exercise; Principles of Strength and Conditioning; Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation; Sports Injury; Applied Exercise Physiology and Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology.
