Who are these guys?

personal training bristol

These guys are Nicole and Jorge, and they are in the throws of decorating at Personal Space. Read more about them below, but first, an explanation as to why they are there.

Our current clients will know that Stuart and I have decided to hang up our PT hats at Personal Space, from the end of June. We have been operating at the studio in Redland for twenty one years, and we both feel a change in direction of our lives is due. Stu and I are the same age (except he is two months older than me 😉 ) so we are both a bit rickety now, and could do with a rest :). I know I can speak on behalf of Stu when I say we have totally loved it and will miss seeing our lovely clients there. I hope we will get to see them before we leave, when lockdown is eased.

We are really excited to welcome Nicole Vignola and Jorge Camacho who will take over the reins when we go. You will hear more about the transition in the next few months; for now, here is a little from them:

Dear Personal Space friends
We are Jorge and Nicole and we are so excited to be taking over personal space in July.
Here we are at the studio renovating and exposing some of the original Victorian wood.

A little bit about us:
Me, Nicole, I am a neuroscientist working on developmental synaptic plasticity at the University of Bristol. I am in my final year of my BSc and I am hoping to carry on my research with the university by doing an MRes or even a PhD.
I have been in the fitness industry for 11 years and will continue to do so alongside my neuroscientific work. I love personal training and my clients, I love seeing people progress and the relationships that I acquire through this profession. Personal training is more than just a job for me, its my lifestyle, hence why I am honoured to keep growing Personal Space.

Jorge studied Sport Psychology & Coaching Sciences at University whilst in a Strength & Conditioning apprenticeship and competing for the University’s Olympic Weightlifting  team. Whilst at University, Jorge also practiced some Brazilian Jiu-jitsu in his spare time, which has now blossomed into a love for Mixed Martial Arts.
Growing up playing a variety of sports, but mainly Mountain Biking and Rugby, meant Jorge had to overcome his fair share of injuries. This forced him to learn about anatomy and physiology and was the beginning of his obsession with human health and performance, and how to get the most of each person he coaches.
Jorge prides himself in knowing a broad range of training modalities but ultimately specialising in human movement, biotensegrity (making sure you are structurally sound) and athletic performance, which he uses to get his clients to their strongest, happiest and healthiest state yet.
Jorge has also done a lot of work in Nutrition and Lifestyle habits to compliment what is practiced in the gym.

We hope that you will stay on this ride with us and help us carry on the Personal Space legacy that Lisa and Stu built.

Thanks for that intro, Nicole and Jorge.

Lisa 🙂
